Conflict study – first year, first semester
(The two roles may be played by any pairing: man–woman, woman–man, man–man, or woman–woman.)
BREATHE!
— I don’t want to see you.
— Let me explain.
— Don’t touch me!
— Fine. I won’t touch you.
— Get out.
— Listen to me for two minutes.
— Listen to what? You were making out with them! I saw you! You had your hand down their underwear!
— It’s not what you think.
— No, of course not! It was an AI-generated copy, two metres away from me! A hologram of you! You weren’t there!
— No. It was me. But …
— But what?
— I was drunk.
— I don’t give a shit. Breathe on me!
— What?
— Breathe on me!
— Come on … seriously?
— Breathe on me, I said!
(Breathes on them.)
— You haven’t been drinking.
— No.
— You’re just a piece of shit.
— Please, forgive me! You’re the only one I love.
— Stop lying to me.
— Do you want to hear the truth?
— Yes.
— I put my hand down their underwear because you won’t let me do that with you. Are you happy now?
— What did you say?
— You heard me.
— I can’t believe it. Leave me alone! Please, leave me alone!
